Our Sea Eagle 9.2 SR & 10.6 SR Sport Runabout Models are out sport cars on the sea. They are our zippiest and most nimble runabouts. A great feature of these boats is the fact that you do not need an expensive, heavy to carry outboard motor to cruise along at very respectable speeds. Depending on how many adults you are carrying, an 8, 10 or 15 hp outboard engine will move you along at 20 mph or more. Because they are lightweight, easy to stow, easy to carry and easy to setup, they make ideal larger capacity yacht tenders.
The longer and wider Sea Eagle 12.6 SR and 14 SR models combine great horsepower and weight capacity with reasonable portability. Designed to carry up to 30 HP and 40 HP engines respectively, these boats will travel at 25 to 30 mph and handle rough seas with ease. The large 18" and 19" diameter respectively pontoons allow these boats to easily support six to seven people and provide greater rigidity to the hull.
They make great fishing and fun diving boats. The fact that they can take larger HP engines allows you to get to where the fish really are...fast! Their larger size will easily carry four divers with all their gear. Two or three fishermen can comfortably fish out of these models. With the 30 HP to 40 HP engine capacity, you can even water-ski or tow kneeboards and tubes.
All 4 models of the Sea Eagle Sport Runabouts have extra large side air chambers for incredible buoyancy and stability. They cut through the waves and provide excellent turning performance. Larger, more powerful outboards often cause bow rise in other boats. Our Sport Runabouts have rounded rear pontoons to get you up on a plane in the shortest possible time. A unique feature of the 12.6 SR and 14 SR models is the sharper, more pointed bow which makes them particularly suited to riding over large ocean waves.
The transom is the most critical structural part of a boat - it must carry the weight and thrust of a heavy outboard motor over bouncing chop. Sea Eagle Transom Sport Runabout Boats feature Fiberglass Reinforced Transoms for strength and durability that plywood just can't match.
Inflatable "V" Keel Interlocking Floorboard System
The secret to their high performance is the 7" or 9" inflatable keel combined with our super durable plastic floorboards. Together they create a V-bottom hull that rides over waves rather than ploughing through them. The keels provide great steering control and instant planning ability! The plastic floorboards provide a super stable standing platform, long-term imperviousness to salt water, sunlight and other marine environment elements and great riding performance in waves. These Sport Runabouts make great fishing boats and are terrific little boats to run around bays, lakes, rivers or even oceans. They are as nimble as sea kayaks.
